The Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee program (NSNP) is poised to reopen to applicants for the first time since 2015. Through the program, prospective newcomers to Canada with specific skills and experience predetermined by the province may receive a Nova Scotia Provincial Nomination Certificate. The NSNP will be accepting applications under the following immigration streams:
Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
Available to highly skilled individuals with a post-secondary education and qualifications who are looking to obtain permanent residence through Express Entry. As with the other provincial nomination programs, candidates with a nomination will be awarded 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points under Express Entry, thereby increasing the likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
There is a list of 29 eligible occupations for this stream. Among these occupations are human resources careers and accountants, engineers, healthcare providers, and web developers.
Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
Available to applicants within the Express Entry system who have worked for a Nova Scotia employer for at least one year.
Skilled Worker Stream
Available to applicants who have received a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer, including skilled, semi-skilled, and low-skilled workers.
Entrepreneur Stream
Designed to attract individuals who wish to start or acquire a business and reside permanently in Nova Scotia.
International Graduate Entrepreneur Steam
Available to graduates who have completed at least two years full-time study at a recognized Nova Scotia university or college, have run their own business in Nova Scotia for at least one year, and intend to settle permanently in Nova Scotia.
