Starting July 16, 2023, H-1B visa holders and their immediate family members can apply to come to Canada to work here even without job offers. Approved applicants will receive an “open” work permit (allowing them to work for any employer) for up to three years. Spouses and dependents can also join and the spouse can receive an open work permit too and the children can obtain study permits.
